I'm a student; do I need Health Insurance?

Answer:
Health insurance is intended to assist with

financial obligations brought about because of sickness or injury which requires medical support and intervention.

Regardless of age, current health or other circumstances, health insurance is important to have (unless you are independently wealthy).

Health care costs are expensive, and even some minor health needs can run up high medical bills.  Health insurance helps to offset those expenses.

Students are often covered by family health insurance plans that parents may already have in place.  Most family plans provide for health care coverage for students who meet the eligibility requirements, which may vary by state and/or individual health insurance plans.

There are also many health insurance plans available to students.  These plans are intended to provide affordable health insurance for those with limited means of income

Many of these plans also have limitations on coverage, so it is important to do the necessary research to find which plan is most suitable for individual circumstances.
