Contact the insurance company right away and begin the claims process. Find out if you must fill out a claims form and if so where to get one. The insurance company may be able to fax the forms to your hotel or direct you to a website for downloading the forms.

Find out if you need to include travel receipts or other supporting documents. Each type of claim will have different requirements. For example, lost or stolen baggage claims will require a list of items (and their estimated values) contained in the baggage and police report (for stolen bags).
