What is the Chicago Mercantile Exchange?

Answer:
Founded in 1898, the Chicago Butter and Egg Board eventually  became the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1919. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange went public in December of 2000. The exchange then merged with the Chicago Board of Trade in July of 2007 and became CME Group.
